HORNÝ TISOVNÍK

Horný Tisovník in the district of Detva has 170 residents, of whom 20 are children. It prides itself in preserved historical wells dating to the break of the 19th and 20th centuries, which are well looked after by the residents.

  

HRIŇOVÁ

Similarly to 2016, the current Festival edition shall also venture out to the town in the district of Detva. Home to some 7,000 residents. Hriňová offers ample opportunities for culture activities and is open to all kinds of cultural exchange.

 

ZEMIANSKY VRBOVOK

The tile of the village, formerly Vrbica, is derived from the willow tree. Located in the district of Krupina, Zemiansky Vrbovok is home to 90 residents, including 8 children.

 

POHRONSKÝ BUKOVEC

Located in the district of Banská Bystrica, Pohronský Bukovec currently has only 110 residents, including10 are children. During World War II the residents were supporting the partisans who were hiding in the surrounding hills. On 21. February 1945 the Germans burned down the entire village. Quite a sizeable memorial dedicated to the fallen partisans has been erected outside the village.

 

 

LADOMERSKÁ VIESKA

Just as the last time, we shall again visit the village in the district of Žiar nad Hronom that has previously given our Festival visit most wonderful welcome. Ladomerská Vieska, with its 900 residents, is among the larger villages where we take our Festival. The village has a number of cultural heritage sites, including the 17th-century Renaissance mansion.

 

HROCHOŤ

The town in the district of Banská Bystrica is home to some 1,500 residents. It is also the place where, form times immemorial, traditional folk music and local Roma musicians are one. Hrochoť is also known for the major Protestant pastor, Slovak poet Andrej Sládkovič hwo spent a decade here. The local school that bears his name, shall be hosting our Festival production.
